Frequently Asked Questions

HOW MUCH DOES A LOGO COST?

Depending on your requirements, I can design a basic logo to get you off the ground and running, but it will not involve any research into your industry. However if you’re serious about your business, it is advised you invest in a full brand design. A brand strategy ensures that your business identity is true to your core values, mission and appealing to the right audience. It requires an in depth analysis of your business as well as your competitors, involves a strategy that will set you up for marketing your business successfully and that all your supporting collateral, packaging, merchandise and signage is aligned and cohesive, giving a much more polished and professional appearance. For and idea of pricing, you can download my services and rates package here.

HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK AND WHAT ARE YOUR TERMS?

Depending on the type of project and work involved, payment terms are different per project. One of my main points of difference to the other designers is that I want to make my services as affordable and flexible as possible for small and home business to get top notch, quality designs without having to fork out a huge amount of upfront costs. Typically, projects such as logo’s, flyer designs and business card designs are an upfront 20% deposit, 50% payment once artwork is finalised, and the remaining 30% upon project completion. However, for larger scale projects like brand identities and websites, these are broken up into milestones, smaller, more frequent payments billed either weekly, fortnightly or monthly. This helps spread the expense across a longer period of time, giving my clients time and not breaking their banks to get premium services.

WHY IS THE COST OF PRINTING ADDITIONAL?

Designs that require printing is a two part process - the design in digital format that needs to be agreed too, and the printing. Every print project is tailored to suit your brand and help enhance the experience through the use of special printing effects and various types of paper (also known as “stock”). I use various printers (local, interstate and overseas) based on your design, requirements and budget and this can only be quoted once the design is completed. It is advised to meet in person so I can show you the textures, colours and effects of the options available to you. This ensures you’re absolutely getting what you want and can assure you’re delivering the right experience to you customers.

AM I ABLE TO MEET WITH YOU IN PERSON?

I work from my home office in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia and have two VERY excitable dogs that would make having a discussion quite difficult while they vie for your attention. However, if you’re based in the metropolitan area of Perth, I’d be more than happy to meet at your office, home or a cozy cafe to discuss your project. Putting a face to a voice is always welcomed in my books, and makes for a great working relationship. For anyone interstate, overseas or regional meetings, I offer Skype sessions via my booking page. You can book your meetings and consultations with me here.

WILL I BE ABLE TO UPDATE MY OWN WEBSITE?

Yes! All websites are built on a user friendly platform that will allow you to update your own content as you please. Don’t worry if you’re not completely computer savvy, all my website packages include a training session that takes you through the back-end or dashboard of your site so you know exactly where to go and how to change things on your site without effecting the layout. I also include 12 months free support to help fix any minor issues.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT FILE TYPES A LOGO IS DELIVERED IN?

Any experienced designer knows that you must, without doubt, deliver your client their logo in some form of print, web and vector format. Although you may not be able to open some logo types, I can’t stress enough… do not delete them! If you wonder why a logo is delivered to you in a PDF or EPS format - this is a vector format. Vector is a type of art file that does not lose quality no matter the scale you size it too. These file types are used for applications such as signage, vehicle graphics and advertising. If you approach a printer and they ask for you logo in vector format, look for that PDF or EPS file type in your different logo types.
